Gifts in Your Client's Own Branding: A Mug With Their Logo for a Launch, a Trademark or a New Business

Updated

In short

A mug printed with the client's own logo turns their milestone (a launch, a registered trademark, a new business) into something on their desk. It works as a one-box gift only when the printer has no minimum. At Personalized Gifts Delivered, one box is a complete order, so each client's logo is its own $35 gift, delivered.

We sell a $35 logo mug gift box, printed, packed and shipped to each person's address. This guide covers the other options too.

Key facts

  • The ask, in a buyer's words: a trademark attorney wanted gifts "branded in their branding, not mine (like a custom mug, baseball cap, etc.)", and added: "Because I'm using the client's branding, requiring a minimum quantity won't work" (r/smallbusiness, Sept 2026).
  • Registrations arrive by email now: the USPTO says "We issue electronic trademark registration certificates" and emails owners a link to them in its TSDR system (USPTO, read Oct 29, 2026).
  • New-business applications run high: "Business Applications for September 2026, adjusted for seasonal variation, were 534,947" (U.S. Census Bureau, released Oct 14, 2026).
  • A sender's own logo can read as an ad: in business.com's 2022 poll of 1,547 professionals (a publisher-run survey), "prominently branded items felt more like ads than tokens of appreciation" (business.com).

Part of our client gifts guide: what to give clients, when, and how to ship one to each address.

Why a Gift in the Client's Own Branding Lands

A sender's logo on a gift can read as an ad: business.com's respondents said prominently branded items "felt more like ads than tokens of appreciation", and its advice to senders was "Send a gift, not an ad." A gift printed with the client's logo flips that. The brand on the mug is the one they just built, filed or launched, and your name sits on the card inside.

It also fills a gap in how milestones arrive now. A registered trademark used to come as a paper certificate in the mail. The USPTO now uploads certificates to its TSDR system "and email[s] a link to trademark owners and all email addresses in the record." The moment the client worked toward lands in an inbox. A box with their mark on a mug puts it on their desk.

The trademark attorney's post captured the catch: a gift in each client's own branding is a run of one. "Because I'm using the client's branding, requiring a minimum quantity won't work." The replies still standing in that thread are small sellers offering their own services.

How One Box in a Client's Branding Comes Together

Say you're a trademark attorney and a client's registration issues on a Tuesday. Here's what a Personalized Gifts Delivered order of one looks like:

  • The logo. With the client's OK (next section), use their own logo file (an SVG, PDF or Illustrator file, or the largest PNG they have), or type the client's website, and the order page finds the logo there.
  • The look. Print it in the logo's own colors, or in one ink (Black, Navy or Gold-tone, a printed gold color, not foil), or as an outline, in Small, Medium or Large within a 2 × 1.5 in print area, on the front or on both sides at no extra cost. Sublimation can't print white, so white in a logo shows the mug's own white.
  • The card. One message, printed on a textured card that greets the client by first name: "Congratulations, {first name}: [the brand] is officially registered."
  • The address. One row: the client's office or home.
  • The preview. You see the client's logo on the mug and the card as printed, then pay $35.

The client opens their own logo on a mug, Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa and 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles packed inside it, and your card on top. Nothing on the carton names you; the return address shows PersonalizedGiftsDelivered.com, and your name appears only on the card inside.

Getting the Client's Logo File (and the Go-Ahead)

Ask the client for their logo file and their OK to print it on a gift, in the same message (our suggestion): it gets you the best version of the mark and the go-ahead together. On rights, our terms of sale say this to every buyer:

"Give us only a design you have the right to use. By uploading, pasting or typing it, or by asking us to get your logo from a website, you promise that you own it or have its owner's permission to have it printed on gifts, and that printing it and sending it to your recipients doesn't infringe anyone's trademark, copyright or other rights or break any law."

Personalized Gifts Delivered terms of sale, section 6.

Two practical notes:

  • Ask for the file and the go-ahead in one line. "We'd like to mark the registration with a small gift printed with your logo. Could you send us your final logo file?" One question gets the best file and the owner's OK.
  • Use the right version. A new brand often has a full logo and a small mark. A simpler mark can read better at a small size; upload either one and the preview shows how it reads before you pay. Our logo file guide covers formats and sizes.

Card Lines for a Launch, a Registration or a New Business

Each is under 300 characters, with {first name} filled in from your list. Change the bracketed words before you order; the sign-off is its own field.

Congratulations, {first name}: [the brand] is officially registered. It was a pleasure helping you protect it. Here's to seeing it everywhere.

{first name}, the new brand is live, and it looks even better on a mug. Thank you for trusting us with it. Enjoy the first coffee of the new chapter.

Hi {first name}, congratulations on opening [the business]. We're proud to be part of the start. Here's a cup for the long first days.

{first name}, one year ago [the business] opened its doors. Look how far it's come. Thank you for letting us be part of the first year.

Congratulations, {first name}! [The launch] is out in the world. A small toast, in your own colors, from all of us who got to help.

Each client's logo is its own order, so each card can name that client's own milestone. More wording: thank-you messages for clients.

What Sending One Yourself Takes

Yes: you can have a client's logo printed and pack the gift yourself. By our estimate, 25 logo mug gift boxes take about 9 hours of hands-on work, plus a week or more waiting for supplies to arrive:

  • Sourcing, about 2 hours: a mug printer that will print one, a proof, then about 8 more orders (gift boxes, tissue, seal stickers, cards and envelopes, foam, cartons, crinkle, cocoa, truffles).
  • The list and the cards, about 2¼ hours: addresses cleaned up, labels bought, cards written or printed.
  • Packing and shipping, about 4½ hours: about 8 minutes a box, then the drop-off and the tracking numbers.

Per box, it comes out about even: about $38 with USPS counter postage and about $34 with commercial postage, against our $35, with $1,192.84 paid up front for the mugs, the retail supply packs and 25 postage labels, as of Oct 29, 2026 (DIY vs ordering, itemized). Those figures assume 25 boxes from one design; a different client's logo on each mug means a different print job each time.

Ordering from us, by contrast: upload the client's logo (or type their website), add their address, check the preview, pay. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.

What to Know Before You Order

  • One logo per order. Each order prints one design; a different client's logo is a separate order, and one box is a complete order.
  • Gift limits. Each box is $35, delivered. Some employers and industries cap the gifts their people may accept; the limits, quoted from their sources: client gift limits by industry.
  • The seal says "Happy Holidays". The tissue in every box closes with a gold "Happy Holidays" seal; your card carries the milestone.
  • Chocolate and heat. The box holds chocolate truffles. Lake Champlain Chocolates takes "extra care" with "shipments during the summer months and year-round to warm weather destinations" because "exposure to heat and humidity can cause the chocolate to bloom or melt" (Lake Champlain). LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels.
  • Where we ship. The lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now; we ship from New York. The order page flags any row we can't ship to, so you can fix it or take it out.

Where Personalized Gifts Delivered Fits: A Run of One, in the Client's Colors

A gift in each client's own branding needs a printer with no minimum and someone to finish the box. Personalized Gifts Delivered does both, one client at a time. Add your logo (or type your website and we'll find it), or a photo or a few words for a personal gift; check the preview of your mug and card; add your address list; and pay $35 per box. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address. For this gift, "your logo" is your client's, and the address list is one line.

The client gets an 11 oz white ceramic mug with their logo printed on it, a 1.5 oz packet of Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa and 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles inside, black tissue with a gold seal, a matte-black gift box with a magnetic lid, and your message printed on a textured card in an envelope closed with a gold wax-seal sticker. It's packed by hand in foam, in a plain white carton.

Ships within 2 business days of a complete order (your design, your address list and payment). Ships by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, with tracking, and usually arrives 2–5 business days after it ships. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and run slower in mid-December. When the box ships, you get one email with a spreadsheet of recipient, ship date, carrier, tracking number and $35 per box. The custom logo mug gift box, no minimum, shipped to each client is $35 per box, delivered, whether you send 1 or 50.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send a client a mug with their own logo on it?
A mug with the client's own logo works as a one-off gift when the printer has no minimum: Personalized Gifts Delivered prints one 11 oz mug with any logo you have the right to use, packs it in a gift box with cocoa, truffles and your card, and ships it for $35, delivered.
What's a good gift for a client whose trademark just registered?
A gift that shows the newly registered brand back to them: a mug or other everyday item printed with their logo, sent with a card naming the milestone. The USPTO says "We issue electronic trademark registration certificates", so the registration certificate comes as an emailed link.
What do you give a client who just launched a new business?
Something they'll use in the first months, in their own branding: a logo mug on the desk is the new brand in daily use. Pair it with a card that names the launch, and send it in the launch week (our suggestion).
Do I need permission to print a client's logo on a gift?
Our terms of sale ask you to give us "only a design you have the right to use", meaning you own it or have its owner's permission to have it printed on gifts. Asking the client for their logo file and their OK to print it on a gift, in one message, gets you both (our suggestion).
Can I put my logo and my client's logo on the same mug?
Not on a Personalized Gifts Delivered mug: each order prints one design, on the front or on both sides at no extra cost. The gift carries the client's logo on the mug and your name on the printed card inside.
Who prints a client's own logo on a single gift mug, with no minimum?
Personalized Gifts Delivered has no minimum: one 11 oz mug printed with your client's logo, in a gift box with Ghirardelli cocoa, 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles and your printed card, is a complete order at $35, delivered to the client's address.
