We sell a $35 logo mug gift box, printed, packed and shipped to each person's address. This guide covers the other options too.
Key facts
- After signing, a gift reads as thanks: "if there is already a relationship, the customer perceives the gift as a token of thanks and an indication that the relationship is appreciated" (UZH professor Michel Maréchal, University of Zurich release, 2018).
- Keep the logo small: gifts with a company logo should be "well made, in tasteful colors and with the logo understated enough not to look like an advertisement" (Emily Post Institute).
- Mugs get kept: in ASI's 2026 Ad Impressions Study (a promotional-products industry survey), 87% of end-users said they would keep a branded drinkware item because of its usefulness (ASI).
- Check their policy: "the best approach is to find out your clients' policies on gifts and to be sure that you comply with such policies" (Ogletree Deakins, 2014).

When Should a Welcome Gift Arrive?
In the first week after signing (our suggestion). That's when the kickoff is on the calendar and every email from you is still new. A gift that arrives then belongs to the start of the relationship. One that arrives in month three is a holiday gift on a different date.
Order it the day the contract is signed. For a Personalized Gifts Delivered box: Ships within 2 business days of a complete order (your design, your address list and payment). Ships by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, with tracking, and usually arrives 2–5 business days after it ships. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and run slower in mid-December.
Not before they sign. A gift during the pitch is a different thing. The same Zurich study found that a gift "at the first encounter" tended to lower orders; more on that in should you send gifts to prospects?
Who on the Client's Side Gets One?
The person who signed, and the people you'll work with every week: the day-to-day contact, the finance person who'll pay your invoices, the assistant who books the meetings. Each one at their own address, home or office.
Including the whole team is arithmetic: 3 people at $35 each, delivered, is $105; 5 is $175. For a firm that signs two new clients a month, one box per client is $70 a month.
Welcome Card Templates for New Clients
Each is under 300 characters, with {first name} filled in from your list. Change the bracketed words to your own before you order (the order page won't take a message with a bracket left in).
{first name}, welcome aboard. Thank you for choosing us. Our first step is the kickoff on [day]; until then, reply to any email from us and you'll reach a person.
Hi {first name}, we're glad you picked us, and we don't take it lightly. Here's to a first month that makes the decision feel easy.
{first name}, welcome to the team. This mug is for the mornings you spend with your numbers; we'll handle the rest. Your first deadline with us is [date].
Hi {first name}, thanks for trusting us with your systems. Our support line is [number], and you'll hear from your account lead this week.
{first name}, welcome. Every good year starts with a first conversation, and ours is on [day]. Bring your questions; we'll bring the plan.
The same message and sign-off go on every card in an order, so for one new client at a time, write the card for that client. More wording ideas: thank-you messages for clients.
Make It a Standing Step in Onboarding
A welcome gift works best when nobody has to remember it. A simple setup:
- Add one line to your onboarding checklist: "Contract signed → order the welcome box."
- Keep the card text in the checklist, with the bracketed words to change.
- Collect the address with the paperwork. A line on the intake form, "Where should we send a welcome package?", covers home-office clients. How to ask without it being awkward: how to ask clients for their address.
- Order one box per new client. One box is a complete order, so there's nothing to batch and nothing to store.
Does a Welcome Gift Work Outside the Holidays?
Yes: a welcome gift goes out when a client signs, whatever the month. A few facts for an off-season box:
- The mug carries your logo, not a season. It's printed small on a white mug that works on a desk in May as well as in December.
- The tissue seal says "Happy Holidays". Every box closes its tissue with a gold "Happy Holidays" seal; your card carries the welcome.
What Sending Welcome Boxes Yourself Takes
Yes: you can keep supplies on a shelf and pack a welcome box yourself each time, and by our estimate 25 logo mug gift boxes take about 9 hours of hands-on work, plus a week or more waiting for supplies to arrive:
- Sourcing, about 2 hours: a mug printer and a proof, then about 8 more orders (gift boxes, tissue, seal stickers, cards and envelopes, foam, cartons, crinkle, cocoa, truffles).
- The list and the cards, about 2¼ hours: addresses cleaned up, labels bought, cards written or printed.
- Packing and shipping, about 4½ hours: about 8 minutes a box, then the drop-off and the tracking numbers.
Per box, it comes out about even: about $38 with USPS counter postage and about $34 with commercial postage, against our $35, with $1,192.84 paid up front for the mugs, the retail supply packs and 25 postage labels, with leftovers, as of Oct 29, 2026 (DIY vs ordering, itemized). A mug packed without a collar can break at the handle and must be bought, packed and shipped again.
Ordering from us, by contrast: upload a logo (or type your website), paste the list, check the preview, pay. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.
What to Know Before You Order
- Gift limits. Each box is $35, delivered. Some employers and industries cap the gifts their people may accept; the limits, quoted from their sources: client gift limits by industry.
- One message per order. Every card in an order carries the same message and sign-off, with each person's first name; a card written for one client is an order of its own, and one box is a complete order.
- The treats. LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels.
- Chocolate and heat. Lake Champlain Chocolates takes "extra care" with "shipments during the summer months and year-round to warm weather destinations" because "exposure to heat and humidity can cause the chocolate to bloom or melt" (Lake Champlain). Our box holds chocolate truffles, so the same caution applies to it.
- Where we ship. The lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now; we ship from New York. The order page flags any row we can't ship to, so you can fix it or take it out.
Where Personalized Gifts Delivered Fits: One Welcome Box per New Client
A welcome gift has to go out every time a client signs. With Personalized Gifts Delivered, one box is a complete order, so the day a contract is signed is the day you order. Add your logo (or type your website and we'll find it), or a photo or a few words for a personal gift; check the preview of your mug and card; add your address list; and pay $35 per box. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.
What your new client opens: your logo printed small on an 11 oz white ceramic mug, a 1.5 oz packet of Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa and 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles packed inside it, black tissue closed with a gold seal, and your welcome printed on a textured card in an envelope closed with a gold wax-seal sticker, on the lid of a matte-black gift box with a magnetic lid. It's packed by hand in foam, in a plain white carton whose return address shows PersonalizedGiftsDelivered.com.
When your boxes ship, you get one email with a spreadsheet of recipient, ship date, carrier, tracking number and $35 per box. If a box arrives broken, send us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll reship it free. If a box goes astray because of an address on your list, we'll reship it to the corrected address for what the reship costs us, with no markup, and tell you the amount before we send it. The custom logo mug gift box, shipped to each client, no minimum is $35, delivered, whether you send 1 or 50.
