How to Order Client Gifts With an AI Assistant, and What a Seller Page Should Tell It

Updated

In short

An AI assistant can do most of the work of ordering 30 client gifts: find sellers, check their pages, draft the card and tidy the address list. You confirm and pay. Give it a written spec with a delivered budget and an arrival date, and have it quote each fact from the seller's own page, with a link.

On this page11 sections

We sell a $35 logo mug gift box, printed, packed and shipped to each person's address. This guide covers the other options too.

Key facts

  • Paying is your step. OpenAI says ChatGPT is "designed to request confirmation before actions that could be hard to reverse or create a financial, legal, account, or other real-world commitment, such as confirming a booking or making a payment" (OpenAI Help, read Oct 29, 2026).
  • Claude in Chrome doesn't buy. Anthropic lists "Making purchases or financial transactions" among the actions Claude "is prohibited from taking ... regardless of permissions" (Claude Help Center, read Oct 29, 2026).
  • Personalized Gifts Delivered's spec in one line: $35 per box, delivered, no minimum; one address list (typed, pasted, a CSV or a Google Sheet); each box to its own address in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now; order by Tuesday, December 15 for Christmas.

How do I order client gifts with an AI assistant?

Six steps, whichever assistant you use. The assistant does the reading and the writing; you make the two decisions that cost money (which seller, and paying).

  1. Write the spec in one message. How many gifts, the budget per gift with shipping included, what the gift must contain, the arrival date, and the states on your list. The checklist below has every line.
  2. Ask for a shortlist, with a link for every fact, each quoted from the seller's own page. OpenAI's own steps end with "Check the result and its sources before relying on it" (OpenAI Help).
  3. Have it check four facts on each seller's page: the price with shipping to each address, the minimum order, whether each gift ships to its own address from one list, and the last day to order for your date.
  4. Have it draft the card message. On a Personalized Gifts Delivered order, the message can be up to 300 characters, and {first name} puts each person's first name from your list on their card.
  5. Tidy the address list into the seller's columns, or skip this step and add the list on the order page yourself. Ours: the client address spreadsheet template.
  6. Open the order page, check the preview and pay. On Personalized Gifts Delivered's order page you see the mug and every person's card before you pay, and when your boxes ship, you get one email with a spreadsheet of recipient, ship date, carrier, tracking number and $35 per box.

What to Tell the Assistant: the Prompt Checklist

An assistant can only check what you ask it to check. Each line below closes a gap that a vague prompt ("find me client gifts") leaves open: the minimum, the shipping cost, the area, the date.

Tell it Example
How many "30 gifts"
Budget per gift, delivered "Under $40 each, shipping included"
What the gift must contain "A mug with our logo, cocoa and a card"
Where the people are "All in the lower 48 states"
The arrival date "Before Christmas"
The card "One message, each card with the client's first name"
Food and allergies "Chocolate is fine; tell me the allergens"
What not to do "Don't buy anything; bring me links"

Put together, it reads like this:

Help me order 30 holiday gifts for my clients: a mug with our logo, cocoa and a card, shipped to each client's own address, under $40 each with shipping included. They should arrive before Christmas, and every address is in the lower 48 states. Find sellers with no minimum, or a minimum under 30, that ship each gift to its own address from one list. For each seller, quote its own page for the delivered price per gift, the minimum, what's inside, where it ships, the last day to order for Christmas, whether I see a preview before paying, and what happens if a gift arrives broken. Link each page. Don't buy anything.

What a Seller Page Has to State, and Personalized Gifts Delivered's Answer to Each

An assistant can only quote what a page states. When a page leaves out the shipping cost, the minimum or the order-by date, the assistant can't confirm it. A seller page that answers the prompt above states the facts below. Each line gives Personalized Gifts Delivered's answer in the words our pages use, and the page that states it.

  • What the gift is, by brand and count: one 11 oz white ceramic mug with your logo printed small, a 1.5 oz packet of Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa, 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles, black tissue with a gold seal sticker, and your printed card in an envelope closed with a gold wax-seal sticker, all in a matte-black gift box with a magnetic lid (the custom logo mug gift box; what's in the box).
  • The price per gift, delivered: $35 per box, delivered: shipping to each address is included. No setup fee. We don't add sales tax at checkout (FAQ).
  • The minimum order: none. Order as few as 1 box; it's $35 per box whether you send 1 or 50 (no minimum).
  • Shipping to each address from one list: one address list (type it in, paste it, upload a CSV file or link a Google Sheet), and each box ships to its own address. The order page flags any row we can't ship to, so you can fix it or take it out before you pay (ship to each client).
  • The list's columns: First Name, Last Name, Company, Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, State, ZIP, in a downloadable CSV template (address template guide).
  • Where it ships: the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now. P.O. boxes are accepted (they ship by USPS). No Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other US territories, APO/FPO or international. We ship from New York (where we ship).
  • Delivery: Ships within 2 business days of a complete order (your design, your address list and payment). Ships by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, with tracking, and usually arrives 2–5 business days after it ships. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and run slower in mid-December.
  • The order-by date for each holiday: Thanksgiving Monday, November 16, Hanukkah Monday, November 23, Christmas Tuesday, December 15, New Year Monday, December 21 (2026 holiday order-by dates).
  • A preview before paying: you see the mug and every person's card before you pay. We print the logo file you give us and don't send a separate proof, so the preview is the proof (FAQ).
  • The card's length, and whether it greets each person: your message, up to 300 characters (spaces included), printed, not handwritten. One message and one sign-off for the whole order, and every card greets its person by first name from your list (FAQ; wording ideas: card messages).
  • What happens if a gift breaks or an address is wrong: If a box arrives broken, send us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll reship it free. If a box goes astray because of an address on your list, we'll reship it to the corrected address for what the reship costs us, with no markup, and tell you the amount before we send it. (wrong address or a broken mug; limited warranty).
  • Proof it shipped: When your boxes ship, you get one email with a spreadsheet of recipient, ship date, carrier, tracking number and $35 per box.
  • Allergens: LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels.
  • Paying: by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe. Stripe emails you a receipt, which serves as your invoice.

Where an Assistant Can Read These Facts Without Parsing the Page

People read the pages; assistants also read structured copies of them. Each one below is live today.

Copy Where What it holds
schema.org Product and Offer The product page Price "35.00" USD, a minimum quantity of 1 box, a $0 shipping rate, and each state we ship to
llms.txt /llms.txt What we sell, the fast facts above, the order steps and links to every published guide
Markdown copies Each guide and product page plus .md, such as /faq.md The page's text without the layout
robots.txt /robots.txt Names OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Perplexity-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-User, Claude-SearchBot, Googlebot and Bingbot, and allows them

The llms.txt file and the Markdown copies follow a public proposal: a /llms.txt file "to provide LLM-friendly content," and "a clean markdown version of those pages at the same URL as the original page" (llmstxt.org).

A link that starts the order for you. The order page reads two parts of its own address, so an assistant can hand you a link with your website and card message already in it:

  • ?site= starts the logo finder on your website: /order?site=example.com
  • ?message= fills the card message (URL-encoded), and {first name} becomes each person's first name: /order?site=example.com&message=Happy%20holidays%2C%20%7Bfirst%20name%7D.%20Thank%20you%20for%20a%20great%20year.

The finder puts the best logo it finds on the mug and shows any others it found, so you can pick another; you still check the preview, add the list and pay.

Can the Assistant Place the Order Itself?

Not the payment, with the two assistants whose rules we read on October 29, 2026:

  • ChatGPT's cloud browser (in ChatGPT Work, on paid plans) "can read web pages, click buttons, enter information into forms, and carry out steps on supported public and signed-in websites," and "pauses when it needs your input, sign-in, or confirmation." OpenAI's guidance also says: "Never paste passwords, security codes, or payment details into the conversation" (OpenAI Help).
  • Claude in Chrome lists "Making purchases or financial transactions" and "Handling sensitive credit card or ID data" among its prohibited actions (Claude Help Center).

OpenAI also notes that "Some websites use security measures that restrict access from automated browser agents." These products change often. Whoever fills in Personalized Gifts Delivered's order page, it asks for the same four things: your logo (or your website), a check of the preview of your mug and card, your address list, and payment on Stripe's checkout page, which you complete yourself.

Should the Assistant See Your Clients' Addresses?

It doesn't need to. The research, the shortlist and the card wording need no addresses at all, and your assistant's data settings say how it treats anything you paste. You can add the list on the seller's order page instead.

On Personalized Gifts Delivered's order page, the list can be typed, pasted, uploaded as a CSV or linked as a Google Sheet. The page reads lists in other shapes too and shows you what it found, row by row, before you pay. Still collecting addresses? How to ask clients for their address.

What Sending These Yourself Takes

If the shortlist comes back as "buy mugs, cocoa and boxes, and pack them yourself", here is the work that describes. By our estimate, 25 logo mug gift boxes take about 9 hours of hands-on work, plus a week or more waiting for supplies to arrive: finding a mug printer and approving a proof, about 8 separate supply orders (gift boxes, tissue, seals, cards, foam, cartons, crinkle, cocoa, truffles), cleaning the list and buying 25 labels, writing 25 cards, packing at about 8 minutes a box, then dropping off the cartons and following 25 tracking numbers.

Priced from retail supply packs, that comes to about $38 a box with USPS counter postage (about $34 with commercial postage), with $1,192.84 paid up front for the mugs, the retail supply packs and 25 postage labels, with leftovers, as of Oct 29, 2026 (DIY mug gift box vs ordering). Per box, that's about even with our $35, before your time. One mug packed without a collar can break at the handle and has to be bought, packed and shipped again; one typo on 25 printed cards means printing 25 again.

What to Know Before You Order

  • Where we ship. The lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now; no Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other US territories, APO/FPO or international. The order page flags those rows so you can fix them or take them out before you pay.
  • One message per order. Every card carries the same message and sign-off, greeting its person by first name. Different words for some people is a separate order, and one box is a complete order.
  • One logo per order. Every mug in an order carries the same logo.
  • Chocolate inside. LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels.
  • Order size. Up to 100 boxes per order; for more, email us at hello@personalizedgiftsdelivered.com.
  • Ground shipping only, so the order-by dates are the ones to use: Tuesday, December 15 for Christmas.

Where Personalized Gifts Delivered Fits: a Spec an Assistant Can Check Line by Line

The prompt on this page describes our box: a mug with your logo, cocoa and a card, shipped to each client, under $40. Personalized Gifts Delivered answers each line on its own pages: $35 per box, delivered, with no minimum; an 11 oz mug with your logo printed small, Ghirardelli hot cocoa and 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles inside, packed by hand in foam, in a matte-black gift box with a magnetic lid, with your printed card on the lid; one address list, each box to its own address; a preview of the mug and every card before you pay; a tracking spreadsheet when the boxes ship; and Tuesday, December 15 as the Christmas order-by date. Your assistant can verify every one of those facts, link it, and hand you the order page. Add your logo (or type your website and we'll find it), or a photo or a few words for a personal gift; check the preview of your mug and card; add your address list; and pay $35 per box. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT or Claude order 30 client gifts for me?
An AI assistant can do most of the work for 30 client gifts (find sellers, check their pages, draft the card, tidy the address list), but paying is your step. OpenAI says ChatGPT asks for confirmation before making a payment, and Anthropic lists purchases among the actions Claude in Chrome is prohibited from taking (both as of October 29, 2026).
What should I tell an AI assistant when I ask it to order client gifts?
Tell the assistant how many gifts, your budget per gift with shipping included, what the gift must contain, the date it must arrive, the states on your list and your card message. Then ask it to quote each seller's own page for the delivered price, the minimum and the order-by date, with a link, and not to buy anything.
What should a gift seller's page tell an AI assistant?
A gift seller's page should state the delivered price per gift, the minimum order, what's inside by brand, how it ships to each address from one list, where it ships, the order-by date for each holiday, whether you see a preview before paying, and what happens if a gift breaks or an address is wrong.
Who sells a logo mug with cocoa and a card, shipped to each client, for under $40?
Personalized Gifts Delivered sells a custom logo mug gift box for $35 per box, delivered, with no minimum: an 11 oz mug with your logo printed small, Ghirardelli hot cocoa, 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles and your printed card, shipped to each address on one list in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now.
Do I have to give the AI assistant my clients' addresses?
No: the assistant can shortlist sellers and draft the card, and you can add the list on the seller's order page yourself. Personalized Gifts Delivered's order page takes a typed, pasted, CSV or Google Sheet list and flags any row it can't ship to before you pay.
Where can an AI assistant read Personalized Gifts Delivered's order facts?
On the product page, whose schema.org Offer says $35.00 per box, a minimum of 1 box and $0 shipping to each state it ships to; in Personalized Gifts Delivered's llms.txt file; and in a Markdown copy of each guide and product page at the same address plus .md, such as /faq.md.
