We sell a $35 personalized mug gift box, printed, packed and shipped to each person's address. This guide covers the other options too.
Key facts
- $35 per box, delivered. Shipping is included, whether you send 1 or 50. No minimum.
- Your photo or your words on the mug. A photo or design up to about 3 in tall, on one side or both sides; or a typed name or short message in a choice of 3 fonts.
- A treat they use up. A 1.5 oz packet of Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa and 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles, packed inside the mug.
- Your card, sealed. Your message and your sign-off, printed (not handwritten), in an envelope closed with a gold wax-seal sticker, lying on the lid so it's read first.
- To their door. Each box ships to its own address in the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now.
What's in the personalized mug gift box?
Every box is the same finished gift, packed by hand. You choose what prints on the mug and what the card says; we do the rest.
| Item |
What you get |
| Mug |
One 11 oz white ceramic mug, printed with your photo, design, name or short message by sublimation (heat bonds the ink into the mug's coating) |
| Hot cocoa |
A 1.5 oz packet of Ghirardelli premium hot cocoa, packed inside the mug |
| Chocolate |
4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles in the classic red wrapper, also inside the mug |
| Wrapping |
One sheet of black tissue, closed with a gold "Happy Holidays" seal sticker |
| Card |
Your message and your sign-off, printed (not handwritten) on a textured card, in an envelope closed with a gold wax-seal sticker |
| Gift box |
A matte-black magnetic box |
| Shipping carton |
Plain white, with crinkle around the gift box and only the shipping label on the outside |
LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels. If the person you're sending to avoids any of those, ask before you order.
The treat comes first on purpose. A mug on its own is easy to shrug at; a mug that arrives full of cocoa and chocolate, with a card in your words, is a small evening you sent them.
What can you print on the mug? A photo, or a few words
You pick one of two kinds of print. Either way, you see it on the mug in the preview before you pay.
- A photo or a design. It prints up to about 3 in tall, on one side of the mug or on both sides. A family photo, the dog, a grandchild's drawing, a picture from the trip you took together. It doesn't wrap all the way around the mug.
- A name or a short message. A few words you type, set in a choice of 3 fonts. "Grandpa Joe." "Same cocoa, different time zones." "Sunday calls, always."
Every mug in one order carries the same photo or words, and every card carries the same message, which can greet each person by first name. If you want a different name on each mug, or different words for each person, place one order per person: one box is a complete order.
Which photos print well?
The print is small, so the photo has to read at a glance:
- Crop close. Faces should fill most of the frame. A wide shot of a beach with four people in it turns into four dots.
- One to three faces. More than that and nobody is recognizable at about 3 in tall.
- Good light. A bright, sharp photo prints better than a dim one.
- The original file. Use the photo from your phone's camera roll, not a screenshot or a copy saved from a chat app, which is often shrunk.
- Mind the white. Sublimation can't print white. White parts of a photo show the mug's own white, which is usually what you want.
Use photos and designs you have the right to use. Leave off team, school and cartoon logos: they belong to their owners.
What should it say?
A photo on its own can feel like any photo mug. Specific words make it theirs: the nickname only your family uses, the town you both grew up in, the line from the movie you quote every Christmas. Lines to start from, sorted by who you're sending to: personalized mug ideas that don't feel generic. For a grandparent: photo mugs for long-distance grandparents.
How does ordering work?
Choose a personal gift, add your photo or type your words, check the preview of your mug and card, add the address (or a list of addresses), and pay $35 per box. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.
- One person or the whole family. Send one box, or add a row for every household on your list. Each box ships on its own, with tracking. There's no per-address fee: shipping to every address is in the $35.
- A card for each person. You write one message and one sign-off for the order, and the message can greet each person by first name ("Hi {first name}"), filled in from the list, so your brother, your aunt and your college roommate each see their own name. You see every card before you pay, and the message can be up to 300 characters. Different words for each of them? Place one order each: one box is a complete order.
- Where we ship: the lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now. P.O. boxes are fine; those boxes ship by USPS.
- Ships from: New York.
The list's columns are on the address list template.
You pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at checkout, and Stripe emails you a receipt. Nothing is added at checkout: we don't add sales tax, and shipping is already in the $35.
When will it arrive?
Ships within 2 business days of a complete order (your design, your address list and payment). Ships by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, with tracking, and usually arrives 2–5 business days after it ships. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and run slower in mid-December.
When your boxes ship, you get one email with a spreadsheet of recipient, ship date, carrier, tracking number and $35 per box. So "did it get there?" is a quick lookup, not a call to your aunt.

How is it packed, and what if a mug breaks?
Each box is packed by hand, in layers:
- the mug stands on a 2 in foam pad, held in a 1 in foam collar, with the cocoa and truffles inside it and a 1 in foam pad on its rim;
- then the black tissue and its gold seal, inside the matte-black magnetic box, with your sealed card lying on the lid;
- the gift box ships inside a plain white shipping carton with crinkle around it and only the shipping label on the outside.
The mugs we've seen break in shipping broke at the handle, and the rim is the other weak spot, so the collar holds the mug still and the top pad covers the rim.
If a box arrives broken, send us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll reship it free. If a box goes astray because of an address on your list, we'll reship it to the corrected address for what the reship costs us, with no markup, and tell you the amount before we send it.
The plain carton keeps the surprise. The label's return address shows PersonalizedGiftsDelivered.com, never your name; your name appears only on the card inside.
Can I make a photo mug gift box myself?
Yes: you can make one yourself, but the photo mug is the easy part. After the mug, you buy the gift box, tissue, a seal, a card, foam, a carton, crinkle, cocoa and truffles, pack it so the handle survives, and post it.
By our estimate, 25 such boxes take about 9 hours of hands-on work, plus a week or more waiting for supplies to arrive. Our DIY cost comparison priced 25 at about $38 a box with USPS counter postage and about $34 with commercial postage, so per box it comes out about even with our $35. It also takes $1,192.84 up front for the mugs, the retail supply packs and 25 postage labels, with leftovers (as of Oct 26, 2026). For one box, the supplies come in packs or one at a time from a store shelf.
A printed mug alone costs less: Printful lists its white glossy mug from $6.07, plus $6.69 US shipping for one 11 oz mug (as of Oct 29, 2026). That covers the mug; the gift box, the treats and your card are yours to add.
Ordering from us, by contrast: add the photo or type your words, add the address, check the preview, pay. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.

New to sending gifts long distance? Start with personal gifts for people you love who live far away.
What to know before you order
- Where we don't ship. Texas (for now), Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other US territories, APO/FPO addresses and other countries. Every other address on your list still gets its box.
- One design per order. Every mug in an order carries the same photo or words, up to about 3 in tall, on one side or both. A different photo for each person is its own order, and one box is a complete order.
- The seal reads "Happy Holidays". The tissue is closed with a gold "Happy Holidays" seal, so the box is a holiday gift, not a sympathy one.
- Your mail carrier. Each box is $35, delivered. USPS's 2025 Holiday Ethics Guide says postal employees "can accept a noncash gift valued at $20 or less if the total value of gifts from a single customer in a calendar year does not exceed $50" (USPS News, Dec 2, 2025, read Oct 29, 2026). Its Ethics FAQ allows "A retail gift card valued at $20.00 or less" and bars "Cash or cash equivalents (money order, check, Visa or American Express gift card, etc.)" (USPS Ethics FAQs, read Oct 29, 2026). This is information, not legal or tax advice. Check the current rule (or check with the recipient's agency ethics official) before you send.
- The day it lands. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and you can't pick the day. To open it together on a video call, order early and write "Open on the day" on the card.
Where Personalized Gifts Delivered fits: the people you love who live far away
From another state, the hard part of a gift isn't the mug: it's the box, the treats, the card, the packing and the trip to the post office. With Personalized Gifts Delivered, you choose the photo or the words, write the card once, add their address (or every household's) and check the preview. We print the mug, pack it by hand with Ghirardelli cocoa, 4 Lindt LINDOR milk chocolate truffles, black tissue and a gold seal, lay your sealed card on the lid and ship it to their door, for $35, delivered. Your parents, a grandparent or a friend across the country opens a finished gift with your words on top, and keeps a mug with your photo on it.
Price, the card, allergens and shipping are answered in full on the FAQ. Sending to clients instead? The custom logo mug gift box is the same box with your company's logo, printed small.
