1 Gift: Print-on-Demand, Etsy or a Finished Box

For one mug, the promo distributors are out: they won't take an order below their minimum, and their setup charge would land on that one mug.

• Print-on-demand sends one printed mug for about $12.76. Printful lists fulfillment at "2–5 business days" and standard US delivery at "3–4 business days after fulfillment" (Printful shipping). It is the mug, not a gift box.
• Etsy has the most variety: handmade mugs, engraved tumblers, gift sets. Each shop sets its own price, turnaround and packaging, so read the listing and message the seller before you order.
• A finished gift box is one order of one box. Ours is $35 with the cocoa, truffles, card and box included, shipped to the address you give.

25 Gifts to 25 Addresses: Where the Checkout Count Matters

This is where channels split hardest, because every address is its own shipment.

Etsy: 25 checkouts. Etsy's own handbook: "Buyers will only be able to select one method of payment and one address for each purchase. To use a different credit card or shipping address for one or more items in their cart, they'll need to remove those items from the cart using the Save for Later feature and purchase those items in a separate transaction." Sending 25 gifts to 25 addresses means 25 transactions.

Print-on-demand: a link, or one box to you. Printful's MerchShare says "You can choose who pays for the order, you or the link's recipient", and each recipient fills in "shipping and payment details" (Printful MerchShare). Printful's bulk pricing "starts at 25 or more units of the same product" (Printful bulk orders); its page doesn't list the mug's rate. Either way, the mugs arrive without gift packaging unless you add it.

Promo distributors: under the minimum. At 25, 4imprint's 72-mug minimum and Custom Ink's 72 rule them out for this mug.

Gifting platforms: no addresses needed. Snappy On Demand has "no order minimum", and "Items are printed upon gift claim" (Snappy). Platform fees and who enters the address: corporate gifting platforms compared.

A finished box from one list. Add your logo (or type your website and we'll find it), or a photo or a few words for a personal gift; check the preview of your mug and card; add your address list; and pay $35 per box. 500 Mugs: Why Promo Distributors Win at Volume

Promo printing is priced as a run. 4imprint's 11 oz mug, as of Oct 29, 2026:

Those mugs arrive together at one address, with "Protective packaging is included to help reduce the chance of breakage." For a trade show, a company kitchen or 500 new hires in one office, nothing on this page comes close on price.

To send them one by one, you'd repack each mug, add whatever goes with it and ship it yourself (next section). Custom Ink offers shipping "directly to each member of your group" at "$9.95 per US address", with its own 72-mug minimum (Custom Ink).

Can I Assemble Logo Mug Gifts Myself?

Yes: you can buy printed mugs and pack the gifts yourself, and by our estimate 25 logo mug gift boxes take about 9 hours of hands-on work, plus a week or more waiting for supplies to arrive.

• The steps, by our estimate: a mug printer and its proof (about 1 hour); about 8 separate supply orders for boxes, tissue, seals, cards, foam, cartons, crinkle and treats (about 1 hour); the address list and 25 labels (about 1½ hours); 25 cards (about 45 minutes); packing at about 8 minutes a box (about 3½ hours); drop-off and 25 tracking numbers (about 1 hour).
• The cost: about $38 a box with USPS counter postage (about $34 with commercial postage), with $1,192.84 paid up front for the mugs, the retail supply packs and 25 postage labels, with leftovers (DIY vs ordering, every price linked). Per box, that is about even with our $35, before your time.
• One slip costs a second round: a mug packed without a collar can break at the handle and must be bought, packed and shipped again; a stale address sends a box away and back; a typo on 25 printed cards means printing 25 again.

Ordering from us, by contrast: upload a logo (or type your website), paste the list, check the preview, pay. We print, pack and ship each box to its own address.

Why Minimums Exist: Setup, Then Kitting

Two costs make small orders expensive for a promo company:

• Setup. 4imprint's $55 setup charge adds about $0.76 a mug at 72 ($55 ÷ 72), and would add $55 to a single mug. That arithmetic is the minimum.
• Kitting. Putting items together into a set is labor. 4imprint's Hot Chocolate Gift Set (three mini jars: hot chocolate mix, crushed peppermint and mini marshmallows, no mug) starts at 18 sets, $23.50 each, plus a $55 setup charge (4imprint).

Sublimation, the method we use, prints one mug at a time with nothing made for your logo alone, which is why we have no minimum. More in our no-minimum explainer.

Deadlines: How Long Each Channel Takes

• 4imprint mug: "Ready to ship in: 3 business days", excluding art preparation, then transit.
• Printful: fulfillment "2–5 business days", then "3–4 business days" standard US delivery.
• Snappy On Demand Plus: shipping "typically takes two weeks, maximum" after the claim; holiday On Demand Plus orders by November 3 (Snappy holiday).
• Etsy: set by each shop.
• Personalized Gifts Delivered: Ships within 2 business days of a complete order (your design, your address list and payment). Ships by USPS Ground Advantage or UPS Ground, with tracking, and usually arrives 2–5 business days after it ships. Delivery dates are carrier estimates, not guarantees, and run slower in mid-December. For Christmas, order by Tuesday, December 15.

What the AI Assistants Told Buyers

We asked Google's Gemini "Etsy or a company: where's the best place to order branded mug gifts for clients in small quantities?" on Oct 25, 2026 (our own test, not a study). It sent "very small quantities (e.g., 1 to 15 mugs)" to Etsy and said print-on-demand companies "bridge this gap" for "1 to 25" standard mugs that promo companies "will usually turn you away" from. • Where we ship. The lower 48 states and Washington, DC, except Texas for now; no Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other US territories, APO/FPO addresses or other countries. The order page flags those rows, so you can fix them or take them out before you pay; everything else on your list stays as it is.
• The treats. LINDOR truffles contain milk, soy and barley malt (gluten); read the labels. Every box holds the same cocoa and truffles.
